Artista interdisciplinària i investigadora. És doctora en Història de l’Art i Musicòloga per la Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona amb una tesi sobre el rol del so en les obres de videoart i performance art. És co-autora junt amb Rubén López Cano del llibre Investigació artística en la música. Problemes, mètodes, paradigmes, experiències i models i actualment és docent d’assignatures humanístiques al Taller de Músics Escola Superior d’Estudis Musicals.
Úrsula San Cristóbal is an interdisciplinary artist and researcher devoted to experimental music, Performance art, Video art and calligraphy. With an academic background in music (BA. in Music from the Catholic University of Chile; MA in Hispanic Music from the University of Valladolid, Spain; MA in Musicology from the University of Milan, Italy, and a BA in Early Music from Scuola Civica di Musica di Milano), she later specialized in contemporary art and audiovisual media. Ursula holds a PhD in Art History and Musicology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Her research interests center around the role of music and sound in performance art and video art.
Her video art work has been screened internationally in festivals such as IVAHM International Video Art House Madrid (Spain), CineAutopsia: Bogotá Experimental Film Festival (Colombia), Video art and animation Biennale of Puebla (Mexico), Festival Les Instants Vidéo (France), Camagüey International Video Art Festival (Cuba), Every Woman Biennial Film Festival (New York, USA), Magmart Video Under Vulcano (Italy), BIDEODROMO International Experimental Film and Video Festival (Bilbao, Spain), EIVV, International Meeting on Videodance and Video Performance (Valencia, Spain), Mostra Viva Del Mediterrani de Valencia (Spain), Miami New Media Festival, Videoformes (Clemont-Ferrand, France), Traverse Vidéo (Toulouse, France), Barcelona VisualSound, FILE – Electronic Language International Festival (Sao Paulo, Brazil), and Video Art Miden (Greece).
Ursula is a profesor at Taller de Músics in Barcelona.
